The Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa says the military is fully on ground to protect Democracy in the country.
General Musa stated this while on a courtesy visit to Governor Yahaya Bello in Goverment House Lokoja.
While describing democracy as the best system of government that promotes freedom, the Chief of Defence Staff maintained that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the military to restore peace and order in some part of the country.
He assured Nigerians that his officers and men are capable of facing any challenge that springs up, advising them to maintain professionalism.
On the forthcoming Governorship Election in the state, General Musa said the Military, Navy, Police and other security agencies are fully on ground to ensure the safety of the people and provide necessary security for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a credible election.
He called on the people of the state to come out enmass and vote for candidates of their choice.
Also speaking Governor Yahaya Bello represented by his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja, said the present Administration has done well in providing security and infrastructure in the last seven and half years.
He congratulated the Chief of Defence staff General Christopher Musa for his elevation noting that the state government will continue to partner with security agencies to protect lives and property in the state.
Governor Bello expressed appreciation to General Musa for the visit stressing that security is central to development of any society.
