The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to two Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) academic programmes that were mature for the periodic assessment in 2024.
A statement by Director, Academic Planning of the University, Pharmacist Muhammed Asuku noted that the academic programmes that got full accreditation are Applied Geophysics and Geology of the Geophysics Department.
The statement noted that the development is a fall out of the October/ November 2025 Assessment exercise by the Commission to ascertain the quality of the programmes.
In a letter conveying the accreditation, signed by the NUC Acting Director of Accreditation, Engineer Abraham Chundusu on behalf of the Commission’s Executive Secretary, the accreditation is in fulfillment of the Commission’s Statutory responsibility to set standards and accredit such, for all academic programmes in Nigeria Universities.
Recall that the eleven approved programmes of the NUC to be run by CUSTECH were duly accredited in 2023 at the first entry, the Vice Chancellor, Professor A. A Salawu promising to work assiduously to ensure that all programmes of the University enjoy full accreditation status whenever they are due.
The accreditation is valid for five years.
