Kogi State Commissioner of Health, Dr Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza, has charged staff of the Reference Hospital Okene to ensure they perform their duties in accordance with professional ethics.
Dr Abdulazeez gave the charge while addressing staff at the end of an inspection and assessment visit of the hospital.
He advised them to continue to perform their official assignment with all sense of commitment to justify government’s huge investment and sustain the world class status of the medical facility.
The Commissioner admonished the staff to be willing and ready to learn from those that know the job better than them to enable them acquire more knowledge and perform well in their duty.
Dr. Abdulazeez warned against indiscipline and non professional conduct, saying any staff found wanting will be punished according to the Civil Service Rules.
He added that the hospital management will put in place welfare packages to encourage the staff perform better at their work.
The Chief Medical Director, Prof Solomon Avidime, expressed appreciation to the Commissioner and his team of Directors from the Ministry for the assessment visit, promising that necessary amendments will be effected to achieve set goals.
Prof Avidime, while thanking Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the immense support to the hospital, assured that the management and staff will continue to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in them.
