APC Inaugurates Gov Ododo-Led Ondo Primary Election Committee

The ruling All Progressives Congress has inaugurated officials appointed to oversee the Ondo governorship primary election slated for April 20, chaired by the  Governor of kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Governor, Ododo, who was appointed to head the seven-man Primary Election Committee set up to conduct the primary has the forrmer Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, to serve as the Secretary.

Other members include a former Oyo State Deputy Governor, Iyiola Oladokun; Senator Lekan Mustapha, Adefunmilayo Tejuoso; Margaret Duru; and Dr. Sani Danjuma.

Speaking during the inauguration, the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje noted that their appointment was based on their track records of commitment ,dedication and experience, urging them to bring their wealth of experience to bear.

Ganduje appealed to the committees to cooperate with APC members in the state to ensure that only a credible candidate that will win the election for the party is elected and assured the Committees of adequate security during the primary election.

In his acceptance speech, Gov Ododo who was represented by his Deputy said the committee will do everything possible to elect the best candidate out of the 16 aspirants .

He said “‘If there is any job not to be done, it must not be the one sent by the number one party member.’ That is the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and your humble self, the national party chairman and the party, which is supreme. Any work set by these people must be done by him.

“On that note, he wants me to inform the house that he has accepted to collaborate with all the committee members to produce the best candidate for the Ondo governorship election. He also said he would abide by the principle, doctrine, and constitution of our great party.”
