The caretaker chairman,Ankpa Local Government Engr Adamu Yahaya Mohammed, has called on women in the Area to work in harmony with the recently appointed Ankpa Local Government Area community women leader for peace and progress of Ankpa Local Government.
Engineer Adamu made the call during the familiarisation tour of Ankpa Community Women leader Hajia Maimuna Muhammed to Ankpa District.
Engr Yahaya who was represented by the DLG Ankpa Local Government Alhaji Shaibu Usman Ahmed said the appointment of Hajia Maimuna Muhammed as Ankpa Local Government Area community women leader is not to dethrone or replace the role of Iye_Oja of Ankpa, rather she is appointed by the Authority of Ankpa Local Government to step into the vacant seat of Hajia Salamatu Wada (of blessed memory) who served in that capacity till her death.
He also urged Hajia Maimuna to embrace open door policy in order to carry along all women in the community, stressing that the women leader is like a mother to all the people in Ankpa Local Government Area.
Earlier,the appointed Ankpa Local Government Area community women leader and the Iye-Ebule Ejeh Ankpa Hajia Maimuna Muhammed expressed her profound gratitude to the Local Government Authority and the Ejeh Ankpa for counting her worthy to be appointed.
She promised to put in her best and become a voice for the women and solicited total support of the women as she is ready to serve selflessly in ensuring the well-being of all women in the community especially in the area of peace.
Hajia Maimuna Muhammed commended the caretaker chairman Engineer Yahaya for the quality good governance exhibited, in just a short period of his assumption of office especially in renovating abandoned FSP primary health care facility which roof was affected by rain storm for over three years, patching of potholes on the roads within Ankpa, maintaining and planting of flowers along the dual entrance road to Ankpa, renovation of the inter-lona round about and flag-off of operation keep Ankpa Clean and many more.
In a remark, the Kogi State APC women Leader, Hajia Hawawu Abubakar thanked all the women and guest present at the occasion, advising the women to do away with rumours and hate speech to avoid rancour and disunity in the community.
