Kogi State Government says the partnership between the government and Tech On Street will be sustained.
Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Doctor Helen Adeniyi Aderibigbe made this known at a gala night to mark the graduation of two hundred participants of the scheme held at Glass House, Lokoja.
Tech On Street is an initiative where youths are taken off the streets to the classroom and trained on various technology driven skills.
The training which is meant to add value to the participants and make them employers of labour will improve the State Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the long run.
Doctor Helen who commended the Convener, Doctor Caleb Lateef Umoru and his team for the success of the training noted that Kogi State Government will empower the graduates within the shortest possible time.
According to the Commissioner, empowerment of the graduates has become necessary as it will not only motivate them to do great exploits in the technology space but will add value to the skills they have already acquired.
She described Doctor Caleb Lateef Umoru as a goal getter and a role model, calling on the graduates to emulate his personality as well find dignity in their work.
Commissioner of Youths and Sports Development, Mr Monday Anyebe who commended Doctor Caleb Lateef Umoru and his team for the intense training charged the graduates to maximize the opportunity.
Mr. Monday said the society is technologically driven, encouraging the graduates to key into the scheme and make themselves employers of labour.
The event featured a technical session where experts in the technology industry were engaged on the impact of technology and the way forward.
Highlights of the event was the presentation of certificates to the graduates as well as a rendition presented by one of them in gratitude to the Convener and his team.
