The traditional Council of Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area has charged health workers to ensure eligible women with Vesico-Vaginal Fistula (VVF) are adequately taken care of.
Acting chairman of the Council, His Royal Highness, Chief David Akande gave the charge while receiving a delegation of health workers at the traditional council Secretariat in Akpafa.
Chief Akande urged the delegation to take sensitization about the condition to public places and anywhere eligible women may be found.
The Social Mobilization Officer of Health in Ogori Magongo Local Government, Mrs. Alice Enikanojaiye and her team said they were at the traditional council Secretariat for advocacy and mobilization.
Mrs. Alice said the aim of the visit was to inform the Council on the upcoming VVF treatment slated for twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth of next month.
She explained that Vesico-Vaginal Fistula (VVF) is an injury that occurs during childbirth causing hole between the vagina and bladder or rectum leading to leakage of urine into the vagina.
Mrs. Alice advised affected women to register with their full name and bring a family member noting that transportation and operation are free of charge.
