When The Dollar Is No More The Issue

It is going to one month now that we have witnessed the almighty dollar crashing down against the poor and suffering Naira in the forex market.

We have been brainwashed that our galloping inflation and rising prices of basic commodities was because of the rising value of the dollar against the Naira

But today it is very clear to everyone that dollar was indeed not the problem.

We, the everyday Nigerians are the problems of this country.

We live in a time when we are behaving irrationally and unpredictably.

Today an average Nigerian have become greedy and unpatriotic.

I’m yet to recover from the shock I suffered when I realized that the prices of everything is still climbing the mount Everest in the market place.

The price of gari have shot up significantly, now selling for over 130 naira per tin of milk in virtually in all the nook and cranny of Ebiraland, Kogi State.

The price of fuel and diesel have remained the same.

If you ask questions they will tell you that they are still selling the old stocks of their basic commodities.

And you and I know the shylock marketers are being economical with the truth.

The other day I wanted to buy roasted corn and I was told the price is 200 naira.

I went into temporary coma because of the shock I suffered .

I wonder where we are going as a people.

What has happened to our collective sense of humanity and the fear of God?

Why is it that every Nigerian is now behaving irrationally and wickedly in our ways?

And the tragedy of it all is that we will now blame  President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for all our man made economic woes.

It is only in Nigeria that everybody wants to be a millionaire over night without engaging in any productive venture.

An average Nigerian is no more patriotic and nationalistic in their ways and thinking.

Those who are waiting to steal are more than the number of those who are already stealing in both private and public sectors.

It is only in Nigeria that the number of criminal elements like murderous Fulani herdsmen, bandits, kidnappers, ritualists and Boko Haram insurgents keeps swelling everyday.

The number of oil thieves and other unpatriotic elements are increasing every minute.

The number of fake pastors, sheiks, and, herbalists are increasing by the day.

There are more churches and mosques than the people and yet the rank of righteous people are shrinking by the day.

Religion is now a perfect cover up for our criminal activities and wrongheaded mindsets.

It is only in Nigeria that some people would believe that you could make money and be wealthy through rituals.

But the last time I checked none of the richest people in the world are ritualists.

It is only in Nigeria that the law of demand and supply which is working in other climes would not work when applied in Nigeria.

Our economists are confused and dumbfounded.

I pity the handlers of our economy, monetary and fiscal policies.

They have tried all the tricks in this world but to no avail.

What a country!

I pray for divine intervention in the affairs of this country.

May God deliver the country from Nigerians.

The ranks of the enemies within is swelling by the day.

Nigerians are the problems of Nigeria.
Everybody wants to be a millionaire overnight without legitimate work.
