Wife of Kogi State Governor Hajiya Sefinat Ahmed Usman Ododo has called on Women to remain spiritually supportive of the state for overall development.
Hajiya Sefinat made the call while hosting various women groups in the state to Breaking of fast (Iftar) at the Glass House in Lokoja.
Hajiya Sefinat explained that women are the bedrock of the nation hence the need for them to intensify prayers for it betterment.
“Let us join hands together to pray for our families, our leaders, our state and for the nation for smooth running” Hajiya Sefinat said.
The first lady who expressed satisfaction for the turnout urged them to be alive to their responsibility as women and remain supportive of other women.
She prayed Allah accept their supplication as an act of worship in this month of Ramadan and beyond
The Imam of Government House Mosque Imam Bashir Muhammad In a brief lecture titled “Significance of Fasting” said the essence of fasting is to increase the fear of Allah and spiritual rejuvenation with utmost seriousness.
Alhaji Bashir noted that fasting draws people closer to Allah and will intercede for an individual on the day reckoning because of the hunger perseverance and total abstinence from ungodly deeds.
The Imam who commended Hajiya Sefinat for hosting the breaking of fast prayed Allah continue to protect her, her family as they pilot the affairs of the state.
Highlights of the events was Special prayers for both leadership of the state and the Nation at large and presentation of gift items.
