Ahead of the All Progressive Congress (APC) primary for Ondo State Governorship candidature, some of the aspirants that submitted their interest and nomination forms at the party secretariat on Thursday rolled out their plans for the people of the states if elected.
Top among them is Senator Jimoh Ibrahim that promised to fortify Amoteku corp and also engages some technological application software to tackle the challenges of insecurity bedeviling the country.
He said he would use a phone application to tackle insecurity in the state, maintaining that modern security requires Artificial Intelligence (AI) to combat insecurity.
“Today security is about having the right app to manage the situation, when i become the governor i will use the military jets to fly drones around for intense security,”
The lawmaker said that the Amotekun Corp will be Reinforced to fight the increasing level of insecurity across the country,
“On security, I will modernize Amotekun, I will use app to dislodge insecurity. There are apps that can detect insecurity and crimes, these are what I will employ.
“Today security is about having the right app to manage the situation,
when I become the governor I will use the military jets to fly drones around to restore security”.
He added that that the bitumen deposit in the state would be put to use if elected, saying, that the requisite legislation is in process at the National assembly that will give it the necessary legal backings for Ondo state.
On his part, the incumbent Governor of the State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, said he has nothing to fear as he remains the choice of the masses.
The Governor added that, having been part of Akeredolu-led government, he knows exactly what the state needs currently and he’s leaving no stone unturned to ensure the aspirations are met.
“Now as governor, in the last three months I have tremendously brought innovation into governance by the things that I and my team have been doing.
“In governance, we have seen in the last three years as deputy governor areas of weaknesses, and areas that we can improve upon.
“These are the areas we are working on so that we can improve on what has been before because I have always been part of the administration in the last three years. And part of that we have been able to improve upon is to ensure that no staff of Ondo State is being owed their salaries. All their arrears had been cleared immediately I came into the office
We are also recruiting about 2000 teachers right now both in primary and secondary schools levels to cover the gap that has been created by the death of teachers in our school.
“These are the things we have been improving upon so that we can have enough teachers in our various schools
Wale Akinterinwa in his plans, promised to turn the fortunes of Ondo state around as he would kick start the reform process from the civil service to transform it into a self-sufficient state without depending on the central government.
He said his focus will be on the marine economy, agriculture, Tourism and also education, to ensure human and capacity.
