The Nigeria Guild of Editors, (NGE) has urged Nigerians to patronize the Reference Hospital, Okene in order to boost the nation’s economy.
President of NGE, Mr Eze Anaba gave the advice while briefing journalists shortly after the media tour of the Reference Hospital.
Mr Anaba, noted that the hospital is well equipped to save lives and boost the economy, calling for urgent need for Nigerians to patronize the hospital.
According to him, the immediate past administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello has done well particularly in the health sector, saying his legacies are worthy of emulation.
He advised the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to follow the footsteps of his predecessor to bring about more transformation to the State.
While noting that Kogi State is witnessing a lot of developmental strides, the NGE President commended the former Governor, Alhajj Yahaya Bello for his huge investment in infrastructural development across the state.
Earlier, while taking the journalists round the hospital, the Chief Medical Director of Reference Hospital Okene, Professor Solomon Avidime said, the hospital has equipments to meet the medical needs of Nigerians.
Kogi State Commissioner for Health, Doctor Abdlulazeez Adeiza on his part noted that, the edifice is not just out to serve the people of Kogi State but the entire Nigeria.
On his part, Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo emphasized on the GYB signature projects, saying even when Covid 19 battered the economy of the nation, the state government was busy releasing billions of Naira on projects.
He appealed to the people of the state to keep hope alive and give necessary support to the administration of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
At the Confluence University of Science and Technology, (CUSTECH) Osara is to the Vice Chancellor says the university is to commence four new medical programmes in the next academic session.
Professor Abdulrahman Salawu stated this in Osara during a media tour by the Nigeria Guild of Editors, (NGE).
Professor Salawu said the new programmes are Anatomy, Physiology, nursing and medical laboratory.
The University Don commended the State Government for the prompt release of funds to run the affair of the School, stressing that, the institution is gradually becoming one of the best University in Nigeria.
The Vice Chancellor noted that, efforts are being put in place by the institution’s management to accommodate more students in the hostel.
In his remarks, President of NGE, Mr Eze Anaba scored Kogi State Government high in the education sector.
