Stallion Times Media Services has Tasked Journalists to humanize their stories and propagate issues of gender disparity.

The Chief Executive Officer of Stallion Times, Mallam Isiyaku Ahmed made the call at a one-day Media Training on Human Rights and Social Inclusion for thirty Kogi State working Journalists organized in collaboration with MacArthur Foundation.

Mallam Ahmed noted that the training which was aimed at equipping Kogi Media Practitioners with the prerequisite knowledge on Gender Based Violence and to help them appreciate the need for gender equity and social inclusion in the State.

The stallion Time Boss appealed for media advocate for human rights and social inclusion through news coverage, promote human rights and social inclusion in the society.

The resource person Doctor Theophilus Abbah decried the slides in gender representation and disparity since the advent of the current democracy, urged the media to be in the front burner in propagating issues that will change the sad narratives.

Doctor Theophilus tasked the media to bring to the front burner issues that would make the female gender participate in governance and political representation.

The Special Adviser, Media to the Kogi State Governor, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, Ismail Isah disclosing that the government under the leadership of Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo would not deviate from promoting human rights and social justice.

Ismail assured of the involvement of Community, Traditional and Religious leaders in dialogue that would sustain its peaceful status, assured of more coordinated approach that would involve all shades of citizens of the State in governance.

The Special Adviser added that the present administration of Gov. Ododo would sustain and build on the legacies of the present administration.

He assured that the feat achieved in the previous administration where the Youths, Women and Persons with disabilities occupied vantage positions in leadership would be sustained and improved upon.

The Chairperson Kogi State Chapter of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists ( NAWOJ) Stella Edoka urged her colleagues to always do reports that would protect the female gender by bringing to the fore issues faced by Women in the society.

The One Day Training was funded by Mac Arthur Foundation, is organized to train 30 Journalists working in the Print, Broadcast and Online Media in the State.

The training is to enable Journalists have an understanding of collaborative media engagement for development, inclusion and accountability.
