Vigilance & Diligence, Paramount For Effective Discharge of Duty- CMD Enjoins Security Personnel

The need for a vibrant security system has been described as a critical component to ensure the success of any organization.

Chief Medical Director of the Reference Hospital, Okene Professor Solomon Avidime made the assertion while addressing security personnel of the hospital.

Professor Avidime said their role in securing the people, equipment and entire hospital premises cannot be overemphasized in view of the state government’s huge investment in the world class health facility.

According to him, the present administration under Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello established the hospital and provided state of the art equipment for qualitative healthcare services to the people of its immediate community, the state and even people from across the country.

He charged the security personnel to be punctual to work, remain at their posts and be diligent in the discharge of their duties, pointing out that the management has put in place a monitoring mechanism as sanctions will be meted out to erring staff.

The CMD, who enjoined the security personnel to cooperate with the acting Head of Unit as the Chief Security Officer will be resuming soon, charged them to be vigilant and watch out for suspicious movement as well as direct patients or visitors to appropriate quarters for necessary assistance and attention.

Professor Avidime urged them to guard the hospital as their personal property, assuring that more security personnel will be recruited in due course.

He also advised them to always appear neatly dressed in their uniform and be ready to discharge their duties effectively.

Earlier in an address, the Chairmen, Medical Advisory Committee, Dr. K. K. Onifade, said the essence of the meeting was to commend the security personnel for their efforts so far and to address them on the need to improve their attitude to work.

Similarly, Head of Administration, Hajia Rabiat Sheidu, maintained that the Reference Hospital was a tertiary institution that needed to be properly secured to enable it function maximally and provide the necessary services to the people, stressing that indiscipline would not be condoned among staff.

The acting Head of security, Faruk Asimore who enumerated the duties of the security personnel, also advised them to accept posting which will be changed periodically.
