The Cultural Council of Chinese Embassy and the Director, China Cultural Center in Nigeria (CCCNIG), Li Xuda has said that fashion can build a stronger friendship tie between Nigeria and China when properly harnessed.
Mr Xuda made this known while speaking at the sinoma- Nigeria cultural show in Abuja.
He noted that the move was to create an atmosphere of interaction between the two country to bring about exchange of culture and ideas that would boost the economy of the nations
the cultural councilor said the the event which is jointly organised by CCCNIG and Sinoma Nigeria Company Ltd was targeted at telling the stories of Chinese culture and their heritage.
“From this aspect, fashion show can definitely build a bridge of friendship between China and Nigeria. What we are doing here today will provide an interactive platform for enjoying our life, understanding our national fashion culture, exchanging ideas, discovering creative talents”.
“furthermore, it will definitely be very helpful to support, strengthens and develop our fashion industry”.
On his part, the Managing Director of SINOMA Nigeria, Jackie Dai, who said that the show has not only ignite a spark of cultural and economic exchange between the African nation and its Chinese partner, but is weaving a tapestry of friendship and opportunity.
He said China and Nigeria should work together in fashion to achieve a longer friendship tie together.
In a remark, President of China-Nigeria Alumni Association, Sulaiman Muhammed, who believed that textiles as a potential cornerstone of the collaboration said China’s expertise in silk production and printing can benefit Nigeria’s textile industries, creating jobs and opportunities.
He said the event also fosters knowledge sharing through training programs as Nigerians that have been trained in China can now utilize their skills to contribute to their own economy and inspire others.

Highpoints of the event was the fashion parade of Chinese attires in different shades of color, Nigeria parade in cultural attires, and Nigeria cultural dances among others.
