INEC Presents Certificate of Return to Kogi Governor-elect, Ododo, Deputy

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented Certificate of Return to Kogi State Governor- Elect, Ahaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Presenting the certificate, the National Commissioner in charge of Kogi, Kwara and Niger States, Professor Muhammad Adams noted that the election was free fair and credible, commending the security agents for providing a peaceful atmosphere for the election to hold.

The Governor- Elect, Alhaji Usman Ododo and his Deputy, Comrade Joel Oyibo were accompanied by Governor Yahaya Bello, APC State Chairman , party stakeholders, political appointees and top government functionaries among other jubilant supporters.

Receiving the certificate of return, the Governor- elect, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo promised to build on the legacies of his predecessor.

He said the certificate of return represents the collective decision of the people to push forward the Kogi agenda for sustainable development.

Alhaji Ahmed promised not to betray the trust and confidence reposed in him by the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and the people.

The Governor-elect appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC Governors, National party leader and security agents for providing a level playing ground for all the contestants.

In a remark, the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello thanked the people of Kogi state for giving their mandate to the party and called on them to have faith in the ability of the newly elected Governor to deliver and work with them for the progress of the state.

He also commended security agents for bringing their professional acumen to bear on the job and ensuring a crises-free governorship election.
