Kogi State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has commended the Kukah Foundation for its initiative at ensuring peace during elections.

Vice Chairman of CAN, Reverend Malachi Ogakwu gave the commendation while speaking on the significance of the recently signed peace accord.

According to him, the measure by the National Peace Committee would further provide a level playing ground for rancour-free election.

Reverend Ogakwu urged the candidates of the various political parties to abide by the peace accord in the interest of the state, pointing out that that no position is worth the life of anyone, hence the need for the political class to tread the path of peace.

Reverend Ogakwu expressed optimism that the security agencies will be alive to their responsibility and urged everyone to pray for the success of the Governorship election
