Kogi State Governor, Ahaji Yahaya Bello has charged the people of Kogi East to work together by giving their mandate to the All Progressive Congress in November election for more dividents of democracy.
Governor Bello gave the charge during the Eastern zonal rally of the Party in Anyigba.
Sea of heads were at the second campaign Zonal rally of the All Progressives Congress in Anyigba which witnessed thousands of defectors .
The venue was agog with various groups in customised T shirt with different inscriptions such as ‘Kogi agenda for Ododo and Joel’.
Present at the event were the Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar, Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho, Ambassador Halimat Deputy Governor David Onoja, the leader of the defectors, son of the former PDP National Chairman Amodu Ali, Party stakeholders and political appointees.
Governor Bello thanked the people of the East for coming out in large numbers to receive the All Progressive Congress in the state.
He called on them to vote for a Governor who has the capability to rule, pointing out that APC believes in competence and have the capability to raised youths and women that can serve the state across boards.
Governor Bello enumerated the achievement of his administration to include road construction in the area , the building of Prince Abubakar Audu Teaching Hospital and appointment of sons and daughters of the area in his cabinet.
He said Igala nation is mighty and should not allow selfish politicians to drag their names into the mud by not voting for Ododo and Joel in the November election.
The Governor noted that there was no ethnicity in the ballot paper and urged them to vote for his candidate who has the capability to lead the state.
He assured them of adequate security before, during and after the election, noting that anybody caught formenting trouble will be made to face the full weight of the law.
Speaking the Director General Ododo Campaign council And Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar said the rally was aimed at selling capable candidates for Kogi agenda that represents the entire state, Ahmed Usman Ododo and Joel Oyibo.
He explained that Ododo has a vision to build on the legacies of his boss Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello and urged the people to give their mandate to APC at the polls.
Also the Director General Ododo Campaign Council in the East, Alfa Rabiu said to continue to benefit from the laudable achievement of the present administration, they should vote for APC
Rabiu noted that Ododo is a marketable product for consolidation and accountability.
In his remark the Senator representing Kogi East Jibrin Isah Echocho said Governor Bello has laid a solid foundation for the coming election with various forms of development and urged the people to be passionate to work in unity for the victory of APC in the November election.
He emphasised that party election are won on structures and called on the supporters to go back and campaign house to house for victory at the election.
The Governoship candidate, Alhaji Usman Ododo after receiving the APC flag, appreciated the people for their support by coming out in thousands and appealed to them to replicate same at the polls to win overwhelmingly.
He noted that there was need for them to work together to prevent politicians that do not have the interest of the people at heart to take the reins of governance.
The State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, commended the defectors for joining the right party and stressed the need to campaign assiduously for the victory of Ododo at the polls.
