The Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) has conferred a Honourary Award on the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Aliyu Umar and the State Head of Service, Hajiya Falilat Yusuf Musa.
Also conferred with the Award are; the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Mallam Ismaila Isah and the Executive Secretary of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Adekunle Aledare.
The Awards were confered on the Awardees at the investiture of Honourary Members by the State Branch of the Society.
The Chairman of Kogi State Branch of NRCS Mr. Benjamin Ajodo, called for support for the Group to succeed in its humanitarian service.
Mr. Ajodo noted that the Honourary Members were carefully selected to honour men of proven integrity, saying the Group is committed to saving lives should in case of any eventualities.
He urged the Awardees to sustain their good work and see their investiture as an opportunity to add value to the Society.
The Chairman enumerated challenges of the Society to include; funding, lack of befitting office accommodation and Ambulance.
Responding on behalf of the Awardees, the State Head of Service, Hajiya Falilat Yusuf Musa expressed gratitude to the the Body for the honour.
Hajiya Falilat expressed the readiness of her office to partnering with the Red Cross Society in the Area of training of Civil Servants on First Aids treatment.
