Civil servants in Kogi State have been urged to imbibe financial discipline and plan properly for retirement.
The Head of Service, Hajiya Falilat Yusuf Musa, Esq, gave the charge at a workshop organized by Leadway Assurance Limited in collaboration with the Office of the Head of Service, Lokoja.
Addressing selected civil servants from Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, Hajiya Falilat advised them to be disciplined in spending and to cultivate the habit of saving from their salaries.


“Be disciplined in the way and manner you spend your money. Save a little from your salary to enable you enjoy life after retirement,” she said.
The Head of Service urged workers to detach themselves from frivolous spending, remain focused, and prioritize proper financial planning during active service and after retirement.
She described the workshop as timely and pledged her office’s readiness to partner with corporate organizations committed to the growth and welfare of civil servants in the state.
Speaking earlier, the Sales Manager, Leadway Assurance Limited, Kogi State, Mallam Yakubu Muhammad, said the organization was committed to helping people achieve financial discipline through structured savings and insurance policies.
He encouraged civil servants to key into Leadway’s savings plans to secure their future during and after retirement.
Mallam Yakubu commended the Head of Service for approving the sensitization programme, noting that Leadway Assurance would be beneficial to any civil servant that embraced its services.
