The Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, has felicitated with Muslims across Nigeria on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, urging continued prayers for peace both in the country and globally.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, he prayed for the acceptance of the supplications and good deeds of the Muslim Ummah, calling on them to uphold the lessons of Ramadan in their daily lives.
He also expressed concern over rising global tensions, particularly the impact of conflicts involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, noting that such developments have contributed to economic pressures and price shocks affecting nations worldwide.
The lawmaker commended Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ongoing efforts to stabilise the nation’s economy and tackle insecurity, adding that collective support is needed to achieve lasting results. He further expressed optimism that recent security measures, including directives to security chiefs, would help curb criminal activities.
Senator Barau assured that the 2026 budget under consideration by the National Assembly would address critical infrastructure gaps and improve living conditions for Nigerians upon implementation.
As part of his Sallah outreach, he disbursed N157 million to constituents across the 13 local government areas of Kano North Senatorial District, alongside the distribution of thousands of food items, to support the less privileged in celebrating Eid al-Fitr with ease and dignity.
