Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo, has commended the Kogi youths for donating ₦100 million to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 nomination, describing the gesture as a demonstration of faith in the President’s leadership and youth inclusion agenda.

Speaking during a visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat in Abuja, Governor Ododo thanked God for what he described as purposeful leadership under President Tinubu, noting that the current administration has given unprecedented opportunities to young people in governance. He assured that his administration remains open to scrutiny, inviting members of the APC Press Corps to visit Kogi State to see ongoing projects in infrastructure, agriculture, and youth empowerment.

On the question of whether Kogi youths would augment the funds if the cost of the APC presidential nomination form increases, the Governor reaffirmed the state’s commitment to supporting the President’s re-election bid at anytime

APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, described the donation as historic, noting that it was the first time youths were contributing funds to purchase a presidential nomination form rather than seeking financial assistance from the President.

He praised Kogi youths for what he called a rare demonstration of patriotism and political commitment, adding that the money had already been paid into the party’s account.

Prof. Yilwatda further disclosed that the APC is considering reducing the cost of nomination forms in 2027 to encourage broader participation, especially among youths and women, stressing that inclusiveness, not money, remains the party’s priority.

In a remark, Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Monday Anyebe, lauded the youths for their initiative, describing it as a bold statement of confidence in President Tinubu’s reforms and Governor Ododo’s youth-driven governance style.

He said the state government would continue to mobilise and empower young people to participate actively in politics and national development.

The donation marks the second commitment made toward the President’s 2027 nomination form, with the Kogi youths becoming the first group to complete actual payment to the party
