The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced that the Armed Forces of Nigeria, in collaboration with other security agencies, will conduct a Route March Exercise in Abuja on Friday, October 10, 2025, beginning at 5:00 a.m.

According to a statement signed by Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, Director of Defence Information, the exercise will commence from the Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment football field, proceed through Mambilla Barracks, and return to the cantonment via Niger Barracks.

The DHQ explained that the Route March is part of a routine physical fitness programme aimed at strengthening synergy, physical readiness, and esprit de corps among personnel of the Armed Forces and other participating security agencies.

Residents and motorists within the Asokoro–AYA axis have been advised to take note of the exercise and use alternative routes, as some roads in the area may experience temporary diversions during the march.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other traffic management agencies will be deployed along the route to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and public safety.

The Defence Headquarters appealed for public understanding and cooperation, noting that any inconvenience caused by the temporary restrictions is deeply regretted.
