The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Erico Security outfit, Doctor Joseph Ameh has indicated interest to contest for Senator representing Kogi East Senatorial District in twenty twenty-seven, with assurance to impart the lives of the people meaningfully.
Doctor Joseph Ameh made this known in a phone interview with Radio Kogi.
The CEO of Erico Security Outfit, popularly known as “Erico”, who is a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC), said his interest was to contest under the platform of the party to enable him complement the efforts of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in Kogi East by ensuring that his policies, aspirations and thoughts for the people spread down to the grassroots if given the opportunity.
While assessing the performances of the past senators representing Kogi East, Doctor Ameh expressed dissatisfaction with their performances due to lack of meaningful development brought by them in terms of infrastructure, quality education, good road network, healthcare facilities, empowerments, among others.
Doctor Ameh assured that if he is elected, he will first and foremost ensure peace and unity among the people of Kogi East to enable them speak in one voice, which he noted is number one security measure that will attract more development to the area.
“If elected, first and foremost, I will bring my people together in unity, there will be a kind of day-to-day meeting with my people. I will ensure that I harmonize igalas and ensure we speak in one voice. I will also try as much as possible to bring development to the land because my reason for asking for this position is because of the cries of my people, so that I can liberate them from the quagmire that we are facing in the East”. He said.
According to him, when there is no equity or unity, it leads to insecurity and promised to work hard to bring the Igala nation together in unity, as well as strive to do more for the people in the areas of employments opportunity and empowerments to alleviate their sufferings.
The Senatorial Aspirant who is also a security guru, lamented the level of insecurities in Igala land, and promised to bring his security experience to bear by putting up security measures to ensure that igala land and every other parts of Kogi East is safe and secured when elected.
“Even right now as it is, am working hard to bring the igalas together in unity so that when we see something we could say something…when we are united, and we see something we will say something and we will be able to do something to ensure that security. When there’s unity we can achieve so much. And when there is security there’s peace and when there’s peace there’s prosperity, when there’s prosperity the people will enjoy. Definitely, there is nothing we can do without having a collective responsibility to fight crime”. Dr. Ameh noted.
He commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his intervention in insecurity in Omala Local Government Area by initiating Army base among other security architectures in the area, saying the security situation in the area has drastically improved.
Doctor Ameh appealed to politicians from Kogi State not to allow party affiliations divide them, but work in unity with the State Government to enable it achieve success in twenty twenty-seven.
