Civil Servants in Kogi State have been urged to support Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for a second term in office.
The chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, Barrister Tanko Muhammed gave the advice while speaking with our reporter in Lokoja.
Since assumption of office, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo embarked on reforms in the State Civil Service that had ensured optimum performance of civil servants.
This Barrister Tanko noted necessitated the call on civil servants to support the second term of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in office.
He said the civil service reform by former Governor Yahaya Bello which was sustained by the incumbent Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has further made civil showed that the civil servants are the darling of the present administration.
Barrister Tanko noted that Governor Ododo has proved his capacity as a man committed to excellent performance and unreserved attention to the welfare of the state workforce by ensuring prompt payment of salaries and several other gestures for the State workforce.
The Chairman of the Commission who emphasized that there was no need for anyone to compete against Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo noted that the Governor is an angel sent to the state to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
Bar Tanko said the Civil service reform by the present administration has promoted industrial harmony.
He explained that labour leaders have given him various awards to appreciate the efforts of the state government in the welfare of civil servants.
The Chairman of the Commission said in the past, industrial actions were almost monthly occurrences saying Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s approach of negotiations with labor leaders had yielded fruitful results of industrial harmony.
Barrister Tanko also enjoined Civil Servants to remain committed to their duties to reciprocate the gesture of the present administration in the state.
