Kogi East Zone of NYCN Passes Vote of Confidence on Gov. Ododo for Outstanding Performance

Kogi East Zone of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN has passed vote of Confidence on the Chief Servant of Kogi State, the Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his exemplary performance.

The vote of confidence is contained in a communique issued after its meeting held at Okpo, headquarters of Olamaboro Local Government Area.

The zone noted with nostalgia the pace of development across the State, and also praised the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sport Development, Monday Anyebe for his massive investment and youth development in Kogi State.

The Kogi East Zonal Chapter of National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, urged those saddled with the responsibility of organizing the forth coming state Congress to ensure a credible , free, fair and just election devoid of rancour and acrimony.

The communique which was Signed by Presiding Chairman, Apostle Ali Sunday and Hon. Peter Amodu, Former Zonal Chairman noted that the call was based on the need for peace before, during and after the state Congress.

The Zone condemned the directive to Local Chapters to pay the sum of 30,000 Naira for the Forth Coming election, saying it is unconstitutional and alien to Congress activities.

The Zone charged all Local Chapters to update theiir constitutional financial obligations to the State as enshrined.

It advised that the constitutionality of the Council be followed to put an end to the lingering crisis and restore peace in Idah Local Government Area, mandating all NYCN Stakeholders at the Local Government to profer a lasting solution.

The zonal leaders consequently constituted a two man Committee with Comrade Sekpe Seneni and Comrade Pete Amodu to mediat and resolve the issues at stake.

On the State of Kogi East, the Zonal Forum heaped praises on the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo for his leadership qualities displayed so far especially on the reconstruction of township roads in Omala, Idah, Ankpa erosion control and many other interventions, including appointment of Youths from the zone.and passed a vote of confidence on the Governor.

The Kogi East Zonal Forum of NYCN however appealed to the Governor, to direct the Kogi State Electricity Regulatory Commission to wade into the almost non existing power supply in the entire Kogi East Senatorial Zone and salvage the people from the perennial darkness being experienced.

It expressed concern over the negative impact of mining activities on the environment and the populace in Ankpa and environs, stressing that such negative impact cannot be over emphasized.

The Zonal Leadership appealed to the Executive Governor to mandate companies involved in coal mining to embark on massive corporate social responsibilities for Ankpa and Environs, appreciating the Governor’s mining policies.

The Zonal Chapter also commended and appreciated Mallam SANUSI ABDUL SANUSI for his humane act to reconstruct Ankpa Township stadium for sporting activities and called on other well meaning individuals from Kogi East to emulate such towards making impactful lifestyle for the growth and development of the zone.

The National Youth Council of Nigeria being the umbrella body of all Youth organizations in Nigeria was enacted by Act of Parliament of August,1964 to oversee the activities of Nigerian Youths.
