The Immediate past Country Director of Care International, Dr Abdul Husseini has commended a Non Governmental Organization, Africa Youth Growth Foundation, AYGF, for its commitment to advancing the course of humanity.
Doctor Abdul gave the commendation in Abuja at a ceremony in honour of the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of AYGF, Doctor Arome Salifu.
The immediate past Country Director noted that AYGF has been consistent in the discharge of its mandate, explaining that the issue of poverty and general under development has been a source of concern to many hence the need to tackle the challenges headlong.
Doctor Abdul described the vision of Doctor Arome as exceptional, viewing from the wide scope of coverage of the organization’s activities which covers youth engagement, community development good governance as well as general transformation of the society.
He congratulated the Chief Executive Officer on the feat attained so far and urged relevant partners and stakeholders to sustain their support towards the attainment of a better and an egalitarian society.
Also speaking at the event, the Country Director, Africa Centre for Leadership and Development, Dr Otive Iguzor emphasized the need for passion in all human endeavors, describing Doctor Arome Salifu as one with an uncommon desire to make the society a better place for all through humanitarian services and giving back to the society.
Other speakers at the event include the Executive Director of Victims Support Fund, Professor Nana Tanko, Managing Director, Society For Family Health and his Deputy, Dr Jennifer as well as Country Director, International Alert, Dr. Paul, who all eulogized the efforts of Dr. Arome Salifu for sustainable growth and development of the AYGF.
In his speech, Dr Arome Salifu said the occasion was to appreciate God for his faithfulness, both to the family and the Organization, noting that only God deserves the praises of his people.
Dr. Arome thanked all partners and stakeholders for their sincerity of purpose over the years, assuring that future opportunities would be explored for the benefit of mankind.
Reports indicate that the event was attended by dignitaries from across Nigeria, while the occasion also featured the unveiling and public presentation of a book entitled “The spark of passion”, written by Dr. Arome Salifu.
