The President of United Missionary Church (UMCA, Dr. Gbenga Odebiri of Africa has arrived Kogi State on a one week Missionary Visit.
Sinçe over one hundred years of it’s establishment in Nigeria, the United Missionary Church of Africa which was established in Kogi State, has worked beyond preaching the gospel to embarking on enterprise that have direct impact on the life of the people.
Dr. Gbenga Odebiri, the President of the Mission is in the State for crusades in Anyigba and Iyara as well as medical treatment and computer training.
Speaking during a visit to the State Broadcasting House Lokoja, the District Evangelist of the Church, Mr. Ola Olorunfemi said the Mission is not only preaching the gospel but empowering the people.
According to him, the empowerment Programme is an annual event and the Church is focusing on Kogi this year, saying the Medical treatment particularly free eye care service and glaucoma surgery will meet the health needs of the people.
Also speaking, the Secretary of the District, Mr. Stephen Olowoniyi appreciated the long standing partnership between UMCA and the State Radio, congratulating the Director General, Princess Nana Hauwa Yussuf on her appointment.
Responding, the Radio Kogi DG, Princess Nana Hauwa Yusuff described UMCA as a unique Church in the past years with great achievements as well as raising personalities that have made impact in the society.
Princess Nana commended the Church for sustaining its the Weekly Programme, “Voice of Mission,” assuring of the support of the Radio State to activities of the Mission.
The UMCA delegation were also at Radio Nigeria Prime FM where the General Manager, Alhaji Adeiza Momoh applauded the outstanding performance of the Church across the country.
