Kogi Central Women Development Association has thrown its weight behind the Senate over the suspension of the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan following her alleged gross misconduct and unruly behaviour.
The Spokesperson of the association, Omole Charity stated this at a Media briefing organized by the association in Lokoja.
Charity noted that the suspension for six legislative months is appropriate and a step in the right direction as the House acted in line with the rules of the Red Chamber.
According to her, the Association what began as a simple change of seat degenerated has degenerated into into sexual harassment claim by senator Natasha against Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, saying the allegation is baseless and untrue.
She asked the Kogi Central Senator to present evidence on the allegation against the Senate President intead of going to the National Television and other Media.
Charity said it is meaningless dragging an arm of government before the United Nations Inter-parliamentary Union to report an issue already before the senate, describing it as sad, and mockery of the Hallow chamber.
Charity maintained that her refusal to apologize for disobeying the rules of a revered and respected institution shows she is comfortable denying her constituents the privilege of representation for the next six legislative months.
She said the move to recall Senator Natasha will enable the district elect a representative that is people centered, law abiding and drama free.
