A group under the aegis of Yagba Progressive Forum has passed a vote of confidence on the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Elder Leke Abejide.
The Group at a Media Briefing in Lokoja on Friday called on the Federal Lawmaker to join the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.
Few weeks ago during the flag off of road project in Isanlu, Yagba East Local Government Area, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo requested the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency to come back to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
This group is lending its voice to the call by the Governor as well as that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the Federal Lawmaker to join the APC to move the State and nation forward.
Spokesman for the Group, Barrister Bola Fabola said the group wants Elder Abejide to defect because they believe the ruling party is a platform for him to serve his people better.
According to Barrister Fabola, the Federal Lawmaker has provided quality representation to the Federal Constituency, hence the vote of confidence passed on him.
He noted that Elder Leke Abejide’s defection to APC is long overdue as the Party needs him to achieve the dreams of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo at the Federal and state Government levels respectively.
The Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Area, Tosin Olokun and that of Mopamuro, Destiny Ademola explained that the call to the Federal Lawmaker to defect is in the interest of the State and Nation.
The Chief of Staff to the Lawmaker, Chief Shola Adebola assured that Elder Abejide will heed to their call as he has the interest of the State and the country at heart.
