Kogi State Government says reports of alleged cult attack on a teacher at Ebira Muslim Community College is untrue.

Chairman of Kogi State Senior Secondary Education Board (KGSSEB), Dr. Habiba Sulieman during a visit to the college, said contrary to the claim of Cult Attack, it was a fight between the Physics Teacher, Mr. Salihu Muktar and a student, who was on probation due to indiscipline.

According to her, some students on Wednesday were playing football close to the class where the teacher was preparing for his next lesson when he asked them to go elsewhere and play the round leather game.

She explained that trouble started when the student approached the teacher and descended on him with slap and punches while other students watched the scenario.

Dr. Habiba maintained that the moment the students saw another teacher approaching to rescue, they fled including the suspect.

She stated that the board will not tolerate any form of indiscipline as the matter will not be swept under the carpet.

Principal of the College, Shuaibu Hassan Adabara said he was at a Zonal Meeting with the Board Chairman when his attention was drawn to the issue which he reported to Vigilante Group who later arrested the suspect and handed him over to the police.

Adabara added that the Teacher has been given medical attention and has returned back to his duty of teaching.

He urged the Media to verify fact before going to press, describing the earlier report as fake and fiction of the imagination of the writers.
