Bassa Agog As Echocho Commissions Famous Vip Guest House

Jubilation and excitement swept through Bassa as Senator Isah Jibrin Echocho, representing Kogi East Senatorial District, officially commissioned the newly renovated and upgraded Bassa VIP Guest House in Oguma Bassa Local Government Area.

The historic guest house, originally built during the era of old Benue State, had suffered decades of neglect and decay.

However, Senator Echocho’s commitment to community development and historical preservation has breathed new life into the facility, transforming it into a modern hospitality landmark.

Recognizing the significance of the guest house to the local community and its potential for economic and social revitalization, Senator Echocho spearheaded a comprehensive rehabilitation project.

The project saw the complete reconstruction of the facility, complemented by luxurious state-of-the-art furnishings befitting a modern VIP guest house.

The once-abandoned building now stands as a symbol of progress and inclusivity, reflecting the senator’s vision of fostering development across all parts of Kogi East.

The commissioning event drew dignitaries, traditional rulers, and excited residents from across the region.

Representing the Aguma of Bassa, HRH Pastor Joshua W. Uye lauded Senator Echocho’s efforts, describing the gesture as patriotic and far-reaching.

“You have once again demonstrated that you are a leader without boundaries, one who values equity and fairness. The Bassa people will forever cherish your contributions to our community,” he remarked during his address.

Senior Legislative Aide to the senator, Danlami Garba, highlighted the extensive upgrades to the facility, emphasizing the senator’s attention to detail and quality.

In his remarks, Bassa Local Government Chairman, Theophilus Adama, expressed gratitude to Senator Echocho for fulfilling his promises.

He revealed that the guest house will be concessioned  to a private operator to ensure proper management, accountability and long term sustainability.

“We will ensure this facilities serves the needs of our people while generating revenue and remain in good condition for years to come” The Chairman added.
