A technology-driven group known as Tech On Street has promised to complement Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s drive towards diversifying the state economy as well as empower the youths.
The Convener of the group, Doctor Caleb Lateef Umoru who is a lecturer with Confluence University of Science and Technology Osara stated this while speaking with Radio Kogi.
Doctor Caleb said Tech On Street is an initiative meant to train youths on technological skills, provide gadgets for free as well as link them to opportunities.
According to him, the training is purely practical and delivered by seasoned professionals in the technology industry, saying the training has started impacting positively on the trainees.
The Convener who noted that the need to change the narrative of Kogi State from a civil service state cannot be overemphasized, hence calling on Kogi State Government to support the drive.
The Program Lead who is also a lecturer with Confluence University of Science and Technology Osara, Doctor Abraham Ayegba Alfa noted that Tech On Street started like an online community but has currently scaled up significantly.
He called on the people, especially the youths to key into this initiative as it is free and will add value to them and the society in the long run.
Mariam Musa and Muhammad Abdulrahman who are beneficiaries of the training thanked the Tech On Street team for their selfless service, noting that the exercise will make them better entrepreneurs.
The training which is tagged Tech Explode is aimed at training people on website design, content creation and digital marketing, graphics and branding, inverter and surveillance technology as well as computer and phone engineering.
