Kogi State Government is set to construct a new Modern Lokoja International Market.
To this end, bidding exercises for the Project have been concluded.
After over nine hours open and compose biddings on Tuesday, various contractors were put on hot seats for the Technical and Financial Stages of the bidding process.
Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, Alhaji Mohammed Muktar Shuaibu said the proposed market which is expected to be equipped with State-of-the-art market facilities is aimed at making the State capital the business hub of the country.
According to the Commissioner, the move to construct the new market is part of the commitment of the State Government under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to consolidate on the achievements of his immediate Predecessor.
He noted that the bidding process was done in line international best practices and commended the contractors for their orderly conduct.
The Chairman of the Structural and Evaluation Committee, Mr. Samuel Olajide described the Exercise as transparent and credible.
Consultant to Kogi Govt. Engr. Kabir Suleiman thanked the Committee members for doing a thorough job.
