2024 China-Nigeria Cultural Fiesta: Jianxing urges Nigeria Youths to Promote Chinese-Nigeria Culture

The Director of the China Cultural Centre in Nigeria (CCCN) Mr Yang Jianxing has urged  secondary school students to promote the friendship between Nigeria and China for a great future ahead

Mr Jianxing made the call during the 12th China-Nigeria Cultural Fiesta 2024 on Thursday, at the Chinese Cultural Center in Abuja.

He noted that about 60 percent of the population of Nigeria comprises of youths calling on them to build up Nigeria of their dream and collaborate with China for cultural and economic development.

The Director whose desire was to see the upcoming youths succeed and become an ambassador of Nigeria to China someday, encouraged the students to promote the rich culture of.both Nigeria and China for a better tomorrow

“I am very happy that today we are welcoming the annual “China-Nigeria Cultural Festival”. “Chinese Corner” is not only a window to understand China, but also a symbol of China-Nigeria friendship”.

“Please allow me to express my heartfelt thanks to the FCT Secondary Education Board and the schools with Chinese Corner for your strong support! In the “Chinese Corner”, students can learn Chinese, watch Chinese films, learn Chinese dance and music, and participate in many cultural exchange activities.

” nine days ago, we just celebrated the official Opening of the 13th Chinese Corner at GSS Wuse Zone 3, and at the same time presented awards to the winners of the Hello China Painting Competition.”

He noted that, “Today, students from 12 Chinese Corner schools will bring their carefully practiced Chinese dances. I look forward to seeing your wonderful performances. I also hope that everyone can enjoy the happiness brought by the competition. I wish you all achieve excellent results and hope that Through the study of the corner, everyone can better understand and love Chinese culture and Chinese people, and become the inheritors and promoters of China-Nigeria friendship in the future.

In his opening remark, the Director/ Secretary of FCT-Secondary Education Board, Dr Muhammed Ladan, who was represented by a director in the Education Board, Mrs Fatima Gambo said the annual event provides an avenue where students engage practically in the cultural exchange and provides prizes that is used by the school to improve teaching and learning.

Ladan who noted that the annual event that has become the household name to most schools within the FCT gave room for more improvement, noting that it has also given popularity to the Chinese Corner In schools and also to the Chinese government.

The Director appreciated the Chinese Embassy for the recent donation of another Chinese Corner in G.S.S Wuse Zone 3. Saying the establishment of the corner has availed the students at the school the opportunity to have an educational and cultural exchange with the fastest developing country in the world,

At the end of the Nigerian and Chinese dances by the FCT-Secondary schools,, Government Secondary school, Garki came first in the Chinese dance, second position went to GSS Jabi and GDSS Dutse while the third position went to GSS, Apo, ADDSS Asokoro and GGSS Dutse.

For the Nigeria cultural dance, the First position went to GGSS Dutse, second position went to GDSS Dutse and GSS Mpape and third potion for GSS Gwarimpa, GDSS Wuse 2 and GSS Garki and other consolation prizes were given to some schools for outstanding performances.
