The Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) haa commencd the distribution of sensitive materials for Saturday’s Local Government Elections.
Speaking at the ceremony which held at the SIEC Secretariat in Lokoja, the Chairman of the commission, Mr. Mamaan Nda-Eri noted that the materials will be sent to the twenty One Local Government Areas of the state.
According to him ” I have taken delivery of the ballot papers and other sensitive materials for the local Government Chairmanships and Councillorship elections scheduled to hold on the nineteenth of October, twenty twenty four ”
He stressed that. “it was necessary that the materials leave early on Friday for onward delivery to SIEC offices across the state on time to avoid delay due to the sensitive nature of some areas”
The Chairman said Electoral officers will be on ground to collate results from polling units to the wards for announcement of Councillorship results while that of the Chairmanships would be announced at the local Government headquarters.
