Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has called on the people to cast their votes for All Progressive Congress Candidates in the October nineteen Local Government election for more dividend of democracy.
Governor Ododo made the call during the flag off of Twenty twenty four Local Government council election campaigns in the state, in Lokoja.
Ahead of the October Nineteen Local Government Election, the State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo presented Party flags to all the twenty one candidates of the APC for the Local Government election.
The Venue for the flag off of the campaigns for the twenty twenty four Local Government election at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Center was filled to capacity with supporters, APC stalwart, top Government officials ,families and friends of all the contestants.
Governor Ododo urged APC Chairmanship Candidates to go back to their local Government to win overwhelmingly.
He noted that APC is a party that has delivered on its promises at all levels of government, and assured of his administrations continuous support .
The Governor called on the people to avoid politics of bitterness and divisiveness and promote a message of hope, unity, and progress.
He called on supporters to ensure the victory of the party saying the 2024 Local Government elections is not just about winning seats but ensuring that every citizen feels the impact of good governance .
Governor Ododo appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the recognition given to youths and women in his administration and promised to continue to support his programs and policies.
He also Commended the former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello for laying a solid foundation for the development of the State .
The State APC Chairman Abdullahi Bello expressed confidence in the party’s ability to govern effectively at both state and local levels and ensuring Kogi’s development and unity.
He encouraged all party candidates to go to their Local Government and start their campaign door to door and ward to ward to ensure victory at the poll.
The Chairman of the Campaign Council and Rector Kogi State Polytechnic, Professor Salisu Ogbo said the assignment for the flag off is a clear testament that the APC will win all the elections.
He enumerated some of the achievement of the present administration to include massive investment in agriculture,prompt payment of workers salary and Pensions
assuring the governor of the candidate’s commitment to go about their campaign peacefully.
In their various good will messages Ibrahim Ahovi from Kogi Central, Mathew Kolawole from West and Rabiu Alfa from the East appreciated the governor for providing the enabling environment for contesters to come out and contest and promised to win at the polls.
The deputy speaker Kogi State House of Assembly comfort Nwochola on behalf of women reassured the governor of their support for a hitch free election and commend him for being gender friendly.
