34 Years of Statehood: Senator Echocho Hails Governor Ododo, Founding Fathers

Thirty-four years ago, Kogi State was carved out of Kwara and Benue States, giving birth to a new identity that has since grown into a land of opportunities, resilience, and unity in diversity.

Today, as the state celebrates yet another milestone in its history, Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho, representing Kogi East, has joined citizens in paying tribute to its journey so far.

In a statement personally signed and made available to newsmen on Wednesday, the lawmaker congratulated Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, his Deputy, Comrade Joel Oyibo, and the entire people of Kogi State on the 34th anniversary celebration.

He also extended warm recognition to the founding fathers and heroes, both living and departed for their invaluable sacrifices toward the creation and development of the state

He said:
“On behalf of my family and the good people of Kogi East, I heartily rejoice with our amiable Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, his Deputy, Comrade Joel Oyibo, and the entire people of Kogi State on this historic occasion of our 34th anniversary.

“I also pay glowing tribute to our founding fathers and heroes, past and present, for their selfless contributions to the success story of Kogi State.”

The lawmaker commended Governor Ododo for what he described as remarkable achievements in infrastructure and other critical sectors within two years of his administration, noting that his leadership has positively shaped the state and positioned it for sustainable development.

“I am proud to be part of this great milestone. In just two years of your leadership, Your Excellency, Kogi State has recorded tangible achievements across all sectors. By words and actions, you have charted a clear course for the future of our dear state.

“I wish you and your team sound health, wisdom, and divine protection as you continue to pilot the affairs of Kogi State.

“Once again, accept my heartfelt felicitations on this auspicious occasion of Kogi @ 34.”
